After a hiatus of several years, the publication of “Church-Educational Series” has been resumed. These volumes contains scientific articles in Georgian with short English summaries.
The third and fourth volumes of the series have been published:
Volume III — „The Church and Holy Scripture“

This volume is dedicated to a multifaceted study of the significance, role, and function of Holy Scripture in the life of the Church, theological thought, and contemporary society. The volume addresses methodological issues of biblical interpretation and analysis, the principles of using Holy Scripture in ecclesial tradition and academic research, as well as its importance in the formation and transmission of the Christian faith.
Particular attention is paid to the exegetical and hermeneutical analysis of specific biblical books, texts, parables, and theological themes. The authors explore the substantive, historical, literary, and theological dimensions of Holy Scripture, as well as its connection with the dogmatic, liturgical, ethical, and spiritual tradition of the Church.
Volume IV — „Towards the Social Message of the Orthodox Church“

This volume represents one of the first attempts within the Georgian theological landscape to initiate an academic and ecclesial discussion around the pressing and specific issues of Orthodox social ethics. The volume addresses the social, cultural, and bioethical challenges posed by the contemporary era, to which the Church is called to articulate a theologically grounded and socially responsible position.
This work pays special attention to the issue of human rights in the context of Orthodox teaching, the forms and limits of the Church’s social service, the theological foundations of diaconia, the place and importance of the deacon and diaconal ministry in the life of the Church, as well as important topics in contemporary bioethics.
The volume also presents an analysis and critical discussion of social documents, concepts, and official statements adopted by various autocephalous Orthodox churches. Thus, the volume aims not only to present existing experiences, but also to promote independent research and development of social ethics within the Georgian Orthodox space, which will facilitate a more active and thoughtful dialogue between the Church and the needs of contemporary society.
The series unites Georgian theology students, master’s students, doctoral students, and professors and teachers working abroad, who are engaged in research and pedagogical activities in various theological disciplines.
